Your Body. Your Choice.

Your body. Your choice.

One of the most common things I hear people on treatment for opioid dependency say is "I wish I had better access to information when I was thinking about going on treatment." It is a desire to change this situation that lead the Australian Injecting & Illicit Drug Users League (AIVL) to support this Options Pack being made available.

As the national organization representing people who use illicit drugs and consumers of drug treatment, AIVL knows how important it is to have access to good, balanced, non-judgmental information when you are thinking about treatment and which option might be right for you and your unique circumstances.

You might be reading this because you want to make some changes in your life. You might be looking for information for someone you know, or: you might already be on treatment. You might just want some further information about your current treatment or other options available to you.

Your body. Your choice.

Whatever the reason, AIVL believes every person considering treatment for opioid dependency has the right to good information so they can make an informed choice about their health and their treatment.

Questions are good. But so are answers. Hopefully this pack will give you some of the answers you are looking for about treatment options. Talking with people you trust including other people currently on treatment or who have been on treatment can also help with making a decision that is right for you. You’ve got this far. So take a look, because as they say "information really is power".
